The Guide You Need To Get

Before I get into why you really need to buy this book, I wanted to give you  my personal history in relation to die cutting fabric and my friendship with Ebony.

Two years ago I really wanted a die cutting machine. I searched, I read, I analyzed. I worried about investing too much into a tool that I wouldn't use a lot and I also worried that if I bought too small a machine, that I would be upgrading within the year. The information I had to go on was supplied by the different manufactures and blog reviews. I finally purchased the AccuQuilt Studio; a couple months later I also purchased the Sizzix Big Shot.

It would seem that die cutting is intuitive, right? You place the fabric on your machine, roll it through and end up with perfectly cut shapes for quilting. However fabric is not like paper. You can have issues with the grain, with the bias, and with how you place it on the die. To be honest, die cutting can be fast and effective, but you need much more instruction than what comes with any of the machines.

After a few bouts of frustration and ruined fabric, I joined the AccuQuilt Yahoo group to learn more tips. At that time I met Ebony Love. Oh my goodness, what a wealth of knowledge! I learned so much from her experiences. Then I learned about her YouTube videos and was awe struck! Honestly, whenever I use a new die, I first go to Ebony to see if she has already created a video about it.

This past year I learned that Ebony was creating a book with all that amazing knowledge on die cutting. Her book, "The Big Little Book of Fabric Die Cutting Tips", is the book I wish I had a little over two years ago. It will help you determine which machine is best for you, how to use the machine and more. I'm eagerly awaiting my copy later this month and I'm planning on keeping it with my dies for quick access.

Why should you buy this book?
1.) It will help you determine which machine will rock your world.
2.) It will help you to understand how to use different dies in different machines.
3.) You will learn tips on how to correctly cut fabric without costly mishaps.
4.) Lots of amazing quilting tips and tricks.
5.) Tips on all the consumables used with die cutting machines.

I want you to have this book so much that I'm giving one away! The book is scheduled to ship in early November.

How to enter?
Leave a comment about the first project you would like to make with a die cutting machine.
You have until midnight (MST) on October 31st. Please be sure to leave your email so that I can contact you.

I do need some help with my Accuquilt Go Baby. I seem to go through mats really fast and then my fabric does not come out straight when I cut it.

I inherited the studio. Which I love, but like you I wasted a lot of time and fabric in the beginning not know how to lay the fabric correctly. I found Eboneys videos on you tube and they have have helped so much so exciected for her book to come out. I have only used the 2 1/2 strip cutter, but I have so many other dies that still have the plastic on them. I would love to make a quilt using some of these dies. Thanks for the oppuintuty to win Eboney's book.

I'd make a strip quilt to begin; seems like I could practice die cutting with a simple, fun project. In fact, that quilt would actually be a table runner so I can get instant gratification!

The Accuquilt site has a great pattern for the Grandmother's Flower Garden. I'd love to make that quilt once I am able to get the Hexagon die.

IF I had a machine, I would cut shapes out of all those scraps that are so neatly filed by color in 12 drawers... and then give away that cabinet!

I am like you and can not thank Ebony for the information she shares. I would like to use any of my dies to make a complete quilt top joining squares rectangles and triangles into blocks.

Wow, first comment :) I would like to make some type of hexagon or apple core quilt project since those are the hardest shapes I think to cut out by hand. Thanks for the info on the book and giveaway!

I bought an accuquilt go over a year ago and haven't used it yet. I just don't know how to start. It took me over a year to decide to buy it and now it just sits in my dining room. I bought the die for 2 1/2" strips and I have a quilt that takes them that I want to make for my husband but I just don't know once again how to start. I would love to have this book if it would help me. Sandra

It is so interesting that we all love different die cutters....but the thing is they are awesome no matter which one we chose. Ebony's book is very informative for those that are confused as to which one to buy.

I recently purchase a Big Shot Pro and have no idea how to use it! So of course I would love to win a copy of Ebony's book! I want to make Eldon by Edyta Sitar, and you have to cut a million 1 inch strips for that quilt, so I think that would be my first project.

I've been using the Go! for many years now but am always learning something new. I would love to win a copy of this book as I teach AccuQuilt Go! classes and recommend good books that I use. My recommendation would introduce many new users to Ebony's system.

Jennifer, I'm so glad Ebony wrote this book. I'm a paper crafter, but I'm collecting dies that I think will do double duty between card stock and fabric. I only have one official quilt die, Dresden Plate, from Stampin Up by Sizzix. I admire the quilts my grandmother made and the time it takes to complete these valuable works of art and necessity. I want to make a quilt for my grand baby with the Sizzix Owl#2 die, but I feel guilty for not completing a throw I started for my hubby's nautical living room several years ago. I simply don't know how to put it together! Thanks for a chance to win Ebony's book. craftqueenrocks at yahoo dot com
