St. Patrick's Day - Lunch Box Notes - Free Printable

all things belle - st. patricks day - free printable - lunch box notes

I loved getting notes from my parents in my lunch box. Maybe it was a hard morning or even a fantastic one, but to open my lunch pail and get a note of love was the best. Children are always hungry for reminders of how precious and loved they are, but it can be hard to remember to tuck one in. There's homework to pack, teacher reminders and more.

I thought it would be fun to watercolor a few St. Patrick's Day lunch box notes to share. There are a dozen formatted to fit on letter sized paper. Print them off tonight on some medium-heavy weight cardstock and tuck them in the kitchen junk drawer. When it's St. Patty's Day week, you can toss in a note of love. I think these are so fun, I will probably hide a few in my husband's coat pocket and gym bag. Who couldn't use more love, right?

You are my end of the rainbow.. These would be adorable with a snack pack treat of Skittles!

You are my pot o' gold.. Mmm, Maybe a few Rolo chocolates to sweeten the day?

You are my lucky charm.. My kids always cheer over a serving of Lucky Charm cereal. They promptly eat the marshmallows and are no longer hungry for the healthy bits!

A fun printable that is sure to bring a smile to those you love! I am lucky to homeschool my brood, but it seems like more often than not, they are on the go during lunch. I can't wait to sneak a few in their lunch pails!

Irish Blessing - Free Printable

all things belle - irish blessing - free St. patricks printable - watercolor

Since New Year's Eve, I have been painting and drawing every day without (much) fail. I have posted almost all my work on Instagram and Flickr. A few people have asked about purchasing a print. Right now I can not fathom trying to sell prints while juggling my 3 kids and homeschool, so I have opened up a Society6 account. I haven't had time to upload items yet, but I'm hoping that by the end of March it will be full of watercolor goodness. In the meantime, I have a free watercolor Irish Blessing printable for you.

This printable is a 5x7 jpeg. I printed it with a laser on heavy duty metallic white cardstock. I love the shimmer! I hope this adds some lovely Irish charm to your mantle!

(For personal use only - thank you!)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Top o' the morning to you! Happy St. Patrick's Day!! I hope if the leprechauns visited you last night, that they did only fun pranks and left you some sweets. We never had one visit before, but I had caught word that the crazy little green man was planning a visit to our home.

We spent yesterday afternoon making him some fake gold. We spray painted gold on lima beans; very quick and fun. We were hoping that we could entice him with our gold and possibly trap him!

And then right before bedtime, Kiddo had a mini melt down. The idea of a little green man magically getting into our home while we slept, peeing green in the toilet, changing the color of our milk, and possibly even being trapped in our green bucket was just all too much. Couldn't blame her..kinda sounds like a bad college roommate! So in a last minute effort to keep Kiddo's sanity, but still have fun, I left our pot of gold on the doorstep and left a note asking the leprechaun to please refrain from coming in.

Luckily we had a very understanding leprechaun and he did abide by our wishes. And he even left treats! A bucket full of gold chocolate coins and chocolate potatoes. (OK, so they are really divinity chocolate eggs..the leprechaun had a fit at See's when he discovered the yummy potatoes had been sold out for a week..big sad face!)

We had a fun morning with Lucky Charms cereal and green milk. Kiddo was pretty sure it would taste awful, but was delighted to learn the flavor did not change. I haven't yet told her that um..something else will change color in about 4 hours..we will cross the bridge later..

Baby, Daddy, and I had devoured our green eggs. Seriously, our breakfast tomorrow is sure to be lame in comparison..

I made the girls matching St. Patrick's day outfits so that they will not get pinched today! Why isn't there an adorable picture of them wearing it? Kiddo refused to wear it and Baby is in hers, but playing at the park with Daddy. Oh well..
As I was appliqueing on the heart and shamrock, it occurred to me that almost all the outfits I make for the girls with appliques.. are hearts. Eh.. I'll need to work on that one I guess, but I still think it's adorable. And all the hearts are just because I love my little Irish girls soo much!

Hope you have a wonderful day! We have our corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes in the crock pot. Nothing like finishing dinner before 9am..

And don't forget that next week I will be posting a daily tutorial of Easter pillows - it is sure to be an eggcellent series!

Lucky Pants

Last year I made my husband a shirt for St. Patrick's day and he still wears it all the time. Since he still loves his shirt, I thought this year I would make something for myself!

It's not every day I post pictures of my undies.. Well these are brand new and meant to inspire you to make some St. Patrick's Day projects, so hopefully I don't offend too many! I think it's fun to have some lucky undies...

You can download a mirror image of the jpeg of my design here. I made it the same way as I made my husband's shirt, you can read the original post here.

Are you making anything fun this year for St. Patrick's Day? Let me know!

From Sweet To The Not So Sweet

To say I have ADD when it comes to creating is probably an understatement. I used to struggle with it, but whenever I try to narrow it in I'm always unhappy. So ADD it is!

This weekend is no different. Kiddo turns four in a couple weeks and has requested a Strawberry Shortcake themed party (I think she made this request the day after her 3rd birthday party..sighs) I designed the invite this evening. I left out the specific details..but you get the gist. Thank heavens for Photoshop! Now I need to finish her gifts and get moving on the favors for her friends..

And then on to the not so sweet... It's my latest piece of art,"Before The Luck Ran Out". I tried to make it just a sweet Irish/St.Patrick's day work, but it just didn't end that way. I really wrestled with adding the little glass whiskey bottle. Ah, well I know it won't appeal to everyone...but that's what makes it art and not a trendy commercial, right?
If you are so inclined.. I have placed it for sale in my Etsy shop..

Top O' The Morning!

Well it is after Valentine's Day, right? I've already started to decorate our mantle for St. Patrick's Day! For the longest time I thought I was part Irish.. well it turns out I'm part Scotch Irish which is different? I don't know.. I do know that I like to partake of dark beer and See's chocolate potatoes..

The vinyl came from a local Utah store, The Wood Connection. It was a year or two ago that I bought it and I just now found the time to have some fun with it.. So I'm not sure if they still sell it or not, but they love holiday motifs and probably have it or something similar for sale.

Do you like my little shamrock glass? I made it this week and just added it to my Etsy shop..

Happy Beer Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Sorry this is sooo late in the day.
We had some major internet issues - I hope Digis never needs a referral from me..

As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to make it for my hubby.
I don't often think of crafty goodness that he would want to wear,
the man doesn't appreciate knit scarves or sweaters but we love him anyways ;o)

Her tutorial was super easy!
I actually used my Pazzle to cut clear shelf liner.
I like using my Exacto, but I need to be quick and accurate.

I also used a fabric paint pen rather than just paint.
Can't say I'm thrilled with paint pens in general.
It always poops out on me during the first project.
One day I'll learn, one day..

Anywho, my manly beer lovin' hubby looks awesome in his shirt.
He's off at the bar whooping it up, but at least he won't get pinched!

Iron Craft #11

For this week's Iron Craft theme of green,
I created a St. Patrick's Day tutu wreath.
Love this on our door!

Super easy peasy.
For this wreath I used a wire wreath form instead of the foam or straw.
It does create a less structured look, but I love the giant tulle poof.
I didn't make the "Lucky" - I bought it at this fabulous store, Tai Pan.
I didn't even paint or glitter the little shamrocks - those are courtesy of Joann's.

All you have to do is cut 6-7" strips of tulle and tie them on the wire.
I then added a few strips of ribbon for more color bursts.
The little shamrocks were adhered with my favorite fabric-tac.

Easy, cute, and quick!
Those are the best projects, aren't they?

Inspiration From The Past

A couple years ago I had a bakery shop on Etsy.
I found an amazing restaurant that was willing to lease me
time in their kitchen during their off hours.

It was such a success - I even had an appearance on the local news
within my first month of business.
But family comes first.
With the commute, Isabelle, and my other Etsy shop..
I had to close down.

But here is a peek of what I made for that St. Patty's day news appearance.

You could easily do this with any electronic cutter.
I use the Pazzle, though I have some unrequited love for the Silhouette.

Super easy to personalize those treats for any holiday!
